A little FYI ... PC was on the NC and consistently being paid trip removal for union work at 100%. That's not unusual. But, he decided to take an international DRF trip during the same footprint of union work. That would be 250% and did not go over well. Was warned not to take the trip. Complained about how much money he was losing doing union work. He took the trip. After trip completion, we was fired from union position. In short order, he joined management.

This is the same PC that was quoted as saying "if the pilots are stupid enough to approve the HKG LOA (first edition), then they deserve it". Now, reference the comments of the PC version of negotiations update on pfc. Same stripes.

Not to pick nits, but we don't have LOSA. We have FOQA and we have ASAP. Instead of a real LOSA, we have BM's "wanna-be junior mgt cub cadet" QA program. Those who collect who knows what data that goes who knows where with no defined rules or protections. You know, the guys who do not ride in my cockpit because that whole unknown is just too much of a safety distraction for me...
Several thoughts ...

- Yesterday, one of the on-line Aviation Safety blogs I monitor has an employment advertisement for a FedEx Sr. FOQA Engineer (based in MEM, of course)

- I've had Management use FOQA data and ASAP reports for disciplinary purposes! There should be some sort of "law" against that!

- I once had a cockpit jumpseater (it was full in the back) stand up after arrival in MEM and say, "I'm a check airman and I want to debrief this flight." My initial reaction was, "Get the f*ck off of my airplane!" Part of my jumpseater brief usually includes, "Is anyone from Flight Management, Flight Training, Check Airman ... ? I overlooked that tis day ... MY BAD

They haven't used FOQA data. Can't happen. If it did, contact FOQA chairman with details.

Stop back in the FOQA lab sometime and speak with the gatekeepers.
