OBTW, anybody else celebrating the retirement of non-member TH, notorious rectal wipe? One less tool in the toolbox. Wish I were there to spit on his cake.

Not to pick nits, but we don't have LOSA. We have FOQA and we have ASAP. Instead of a real LOSA, we have BM's "wanna-be junior mgt cub cadet" QA program. Those who collect who knows what data that goes who knows where with no defined rules or protections. You know, the guys who do not ride in my cockpit because that whole unknown is just too much of a safety distraction for me...

I've seen the FOQA LOA used once, right after we signed it.
No agreement on the QA program, but lots of little Management Cadets riding around on jumpseats with generous BLGs.

...Speaking of knowing the CBA. Would it not be beneficial for all hands to have periodic seminars, perhaps in each domicile, to address common scheduler challenges to the contact? Maybe the MEC can train a half a dozen members on contract scheduling and pay provision details, and send them to each domicile to brief the crew force. Sort of a pro-active way to help us all know the CBA better.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.
I'm amazed at how many pilots don't know the rules, and don't bother looking them up when they're placed in SUB
The schedulers will try to treat you like you're on Reserve --- and will also offer you trips that are "legal" IAW the FARS, but not IAW the SUB parameters
The schedulers will initially fein ignorance until you press to test with a CBA reference --- then quickly back off
It's very important to know the SUB rules (...and RAT rules) during peak
There's going to be a lot of schedule changes

Here ya go...
See bottom: The Fedex spokesman is questioning our productivity
... Interesting
Me thinks they'd rather have us picking up extra trips, not picking up signs

FedEx pilots took to the streets of New York, Denver and Indianapolis Wednesday to protest the pace of labor negotiations with the Memphis carrier.
The Air Line Pilots Association said more than 200 pilots participated in informational picketing similar to September demonstrations that drew several hundred pilots at FedEx Express bases in Memphis, Anchorage and Los Angeles.
The latest protests came after FedEx Express on Oct. 31 asked for assistance from the National Mediation Board in reaching an agreement covering about 4,200 pilots.
The New York protest was held midday at 1 Wall Street, outside BNY Mellon and near the New York Stock Exchange.
The union said 65 pilots picketed in New York, 91 in Indianapolis and 50 in Denver.
Scott Stratton, a pilot who is chairman of ALPA's FedEx master executive council, said in a release that FedEx's request for mediation was hardly a surprise.
The parties did a good job working through a lot of the agreement, but regarding some core issues FedEx pursued radical shifts in major sections of the agreement.
The union says key issues include scheduling, quality of life issues, retirement and insurance.
FedEx spokeswoman Melissa Charbonneau pointed out FedEx, not the union, requested mediation.
It's in our best interests to reach a fair and reasonable agreement as soon as possible, Charbonneau said.
We question how productive it is for them to spend time carrying signs out in the street, especially at this early point in the mediation process.

RE: the company's proposals... Remember the initial FPA cadre's negotiation chairman? PC? Remember his TA?
The "cost neutral" TA?
Sort of like Wimpy's I'd gladly pay you on Thursday for a hamburger today? Sell back your vacation if you want to fund the pay raise we might give you? Or some other such abstraction? It's the same old tune.
So is ours: "My Negotiating Committee Speaks for Me".
