Any current United pilots have a general idea of how long it would take for a new hire to get to Denver? A few years? More/less? And if it is a long time, where are most of the new hires being based?

EWR junior. SFO probably will become Junior fairly soon. DEN is and will probably remain one of the most senior. Bumps there now off the A320 and 76T, so that's filling the 737. That being said, as a 737 F/O I'm guessing a couple of years might get you in there with the retirements are forecasting.

A long, long time. Both Airbus and 76T are currently undergoing shrinkage with quite a few folks bumped out and a bunch wanting to get it. With very little movement here, it will be years not months before junior folks see DEN. Sorry, but that's the truth of it.

New hire here starting class soon. Looking forward to 73 in EWR to start hopefully. However, my first choice of base would be IAD followed by ORD 73. How long til a new hire could hold IAD? Or ORD. Any thoughts as to the future of DC as a base? I know it's pretty close to NY and was unsure of how it would look in the future. I plan on moving to either Chicago or DC. Thanks.

Its impossible to know how junior/senior IAD 737 will be. The base is scheduled to open in July. The bid for the initial opening will probably open this week and will probably be less than 50/seat initially.

ORD 737 is starting to get more junior but still at 2 years.

IAD 756 is going to new hires. A 737 base bad been announced but I don't know if that will go to new hires.

If you bid the 756 you could get EWR or IAD right away and bid to IAD at the next vacancy and most likely get it. I'd say CLE is more in danger than IAD but it's anyone's guess.

Did they tell you that's what you're getting? Word is these next classes were going to be 756 heavy. 76T too. Can't remember where I saw that and don't want to look for it. Hope you get what you want!

Flying Together shows 737, A320, and 756 being in every new hire class in February and March. It doesn't give the breakdown and there is an * stating it is "subject to change".

Hope that helps.
