If this is going down the same path as TA15, DALPA will need to spend another $1.5M for a NO vote.

Quote: You obviously do not fly narrowbody because you would know your statement is 100% false..Guys fly sick all the time. I see it a lot. It would only get worse if we got paid for unused sick time. I do see you wrote "SHOULDN'T", and not "DON'T" in your post.
9 years of narrow body FO. In LAX, SLC, and MSP I think I've flown with *one* guy who should have stayed home. Maybe FOs are more likely to fly when they shouldn't? I don't know. What I do know is that behavior is unprofessional.

Yep.. Another NO vote and a recruiting bonanza for DPA... Another in a very long line of ALPA failures.... Please ALPA>>prove me wrong, but excuse me if I don't hold my breathe...

Quote: I totally agree with your the beginning of your post. Flown with many who've had the same problem. We need a system that banks/pays unused sick so you can use it when you really get sick. Talk to the guys living on a fraction of their monthly pay after a long battle with a terrible disease. One of the top issues in my survey. We need it yesterday. Sick leave is not personal time.
Absolutely. Unused sick leave needs to go into a bank so you can use it when the big stuff comes along. Almost everyone goes out for at least a few months as they get older. Accidents, surgery, injuries, cancer, heart attacks....all of these things could last for months, if not years. I know people who have barely used their banks for many years, one major event happens, and at least they can stay on full pay for a long time to cover it. This one is worth fighting for.

The idea that our sick will now have a rolling look back and verifications will not be accepted the first 100 hours is ridiculous. I will not vote for a contact with such provisions.

Quote: It would be bad enough if this was the only concession. But I have heard from multiple, credible sources that is only one of many concessions. Including scope, and another LCA trip pull restriction. Line value relief too. IOW, working more.

Any one of those is an auto "no" for me, regardless of pay. More money AND more time off.
Perfect. Build more efficient domestic trips with red eyes embedded in the middle, increase the ALV even more (who needs 12 days off) and ding sick leave.

You can't make this shiz up.

There should be no verification required until you trigger disability pay.

I kind of like our current sick leave policy. Don't change anything.
