thoughts on sick bank

9 years of narrow body FO. In LAX, SLC, and MSP I think I've flown with *one* guy who should have stayed home. Maybe FOs are more likely to fly when they shouldn't? I don't know. What I do know is that behavior is unprofessional.

Yep.. Another NO vote and a recruiting bonanza for DPA... Another in a very long line of ALPA failures.... Please ALPA>>prove me wrong, but excuse me if I don't hold my breathe...

I totally agree with your the beginning of your post. Flown with many who've had the same problem. We need a system that banks/pays unused sick so you can use it when you really get sick. Talk to the guys living on a fraction of their monthly pay after a long battle with a terrible disease. One of the top issues in my survey. We need it yesterday. Sick leave is not personal time.

Absolutely. Unused sick leave needs to go into a bank so you can use it when the big stuff comes along. Almost everyone goes out for at least a few months as they get older. Accidents, surgery, injuries, cancer, heart attacks....all of these things could last for months, if not years. I know people who have barely used their banks for many years, one major event happens, and at least they can stay on full pay for a long time to cover it. This one is worth fighting for.

It would be bad enough if this was the only concession. But I have heard from multiple, credible sources that is only one of many concessions. Including scope, and another LCA trip pull restriction. Line value relief too. IOW, working more.
Any one of those is an auto "no" for me, regardless of pay. More money AND more time off.

You can't make this shiz up.
