Quote: It makes me scratch my head with the high ALV and TLV (91:30!!) because reserves were projected over 20% and thus given an extra X-day. Who here can read the tea leaves better than?

My guess is vacation allows for the higher ALV while still having 20%+ reserves.

Looking at the pilot reserve levels on the 88b for March, they are way overstaffed. Not sure how you come up with no FO's?

I think 90 straight up vacancy and a lot of guys who bid off.

Any particular reason for the mass exodus?

Quote: They backed themselves into a corner. Last class in 2018 that got MD88s was June 4 2018. Then just to make sure the category was completely screwed they displaced the few off the bottom who still had seat locks and recalled them. Which erased their seat lock.

So they had a category nobody wants, with no seniority movement, and now no seat locks...
100% spot on.

there are over a 100 leaving in the next few months. Block hours are high until late fall when they will dramatically drop. I believe 20k+ in June to 8k in December. This exact discussion was explained by bs a few CR memos ago. Again everything is subject to change. Also, coverage might look good in March till March madness hits. The 88 has the ncaa charters.

They appear to be over staffed, because they put new hires on it finally and the bottom 10% of the list isn’t out of training yet. If they hadn’t added new hires they’d be short about 50 right now.

100% spot on.
Lost a lot of international. Some guys moving to 330/765 FO.

Guys like me who are primarily domestic and MeX/LA for international have had schedules degrade a bit, and very little Europe making it to us.

I used to hold occasional Lisbon, EDI, GLA, KEF as a line holder and be able to get CDG, FRA, BRU, CPH on reserve if I Yellow Slipped.

My thought was if I'm going to get non commutable domestic, might as well get paid as a Captain to do it.
