It is not. Enjoy the 88... Or if there is a shortage of ATL slots and people are desperate to get there, enjoy the 717

Thats probably whats going to happen. Anyone want to send me some pairing examples from NYC 717? I fly the 190 at Jblue now and I’m doing 16 leg 4 days. I’m hoping Delta does a better job of not pushing me into 14 hour days and asking me to waive the CBA to move a jet.

Thats true too, however who’s going to be staying on the jet to the very end? It’s going to be the super senior guys who don’t want to change. The new hires will be the ones jumping. Maybe thats not a bad place to be. If you’re displaced can you bid any seat any base? Or do you have to stay in base and change equipment?

poor new hires? A few months on the 88 before they have no seat lock and go to whatever category they can hold in the system. Plus can bid again whenever they want if they don’t like the plane they went to through the displacement.

If you’re displaced they will remove your seat lock and you can go anywhere that your seniority allows. It would suck to go through two rounds of training but at least you come out on the other side without a seat lock.

The company will also pay for your move if you’re changing bases (there are some caveats with this but I don’t want to look them up).

So you’re saying I should bid the 88? Haha

It's an airplane, old with crazy vnav and a lotta MELs everytime you go out. But it's just a plane and first year pay is the same as everything else.

As others have said, the MD that'll come with it will offer a lot of options.

Default 88 study guides

As a mil guy transitioning to the 121 world I thought the 88 was a great airplane. I'm psyched I got to fly that machine. For any new hires lucky enough to fly The Dog I have a system's guide and training guide that offer really good consolidated information to supplement your company material. PM if interested.
