My family and I are planning to move to base. If possible, we’d just prefer to avoid ORD, DTW and California. Any other base is great for us.

I think Silver Airways, Spirit, and Allegiant are best for getting all short trips, anywhere else it will take seniority. You might want to prioritize your end goal, such as which airline will get you the earliest class date, get you through training fastest, and get you flight time fastest so you can move onto your goal airline before the hiring wave ends. It’s possible a year or two at a regional would get you to Spirit or Allegiant. You might check whether Allegiant or Spirit share junior bases with any regional airlines so you can plan on fewer moves.

Lately it’s back to back three day trips. So you’re effectively gone six days. That mixed in with four days.

I’m tired. Can’t speak for anyone else.

Pilots are being hired at ULCCs with 1500TT/25ME. Plenty more with <6 months at a regional.

Not without an ATP in hand they aren’t. Unless your in the ATP flight school zero to hero program.

Has anyone heard of anyone getting hired at Frontier/Spirit without ATP, if not in a special program? I keep hearing about pilots being hired at Spirit/Frontier with only 1500 hours, straight from CFI…

Is it worth it to just pay for ATP myself and apply straight to Frontier/Spirit rather than a regional? I already have roughly 2000 hours and ATP-CTP done.

What will the hour requirements be for our new charter 135 operation? 250 hours?

If you already have your CTP completed, and aren’t on the hook already, as in backing out of a 121 training program, yes, I ABSOLUTELY would go knock out the ATP and bypass the regionals.
