You haven’t experienced the dishonesty in the payroll department then. 100% of the time the errors are in the company’s favor. It’s too perfect. Case in point above….

Not true and insulating a massive fraud is really unstable.

Not insulating massive fraud. What I AM saying is that I’ve worked for corporations large and small, some with very complicated compensation packages, and I’ve never had so many pay mistakes. It’s unbelievable and terribly frustrating. And yes, in my experience, it’s been 100% in their favor.
Happy to correct one in my favor, don’t want them to pull it later when I expect a full check.
So lighten up Francis.

I really doubt anyone in payroll gets up in the morning looking to cheat some pilot out of a few dollars - much more likely is a simple mistake since the pay structure and rules are freakishly complex compared to most other industries.

When CS promises X and payroll deliveries Y, I begin to understand those who say “get it in writing”. I still don’t do that, but I’ve learned to watch my payroll like a hawk. Which is sad.

I picked up open time once a few years ago as an FO and got absolutely bamboozled as I was showing up to the airport about to check in. They basically stripped a turn in the pairing and turned a two day from 10 hours of credit at 150% into 6 hours of credit which paid essentially min guarantee. Obviously I would have never wasted my time with that junk, they knew that, so they waited just prior to my report time to make an update.

I never answer the phone from CS on off days and I’ve never picked up an open time trip after that day. Maybe you should stop complaining and do the same. I promise you life is so much easier when you pay no attention to SkyWest Inc. on your off days. They don’t pay us enough anyways to be working on your few days off.

Already there brother. You’re correct in all. Still gotta watch then on the reflows. Upgrades. Canada flying.
It’s uncanny. And hilarious.
After This Cog is on the gone list the big wheel will keep turning and a new FO will get the lesson learned moment and all will go on. I’ve learned not a ton here changes. So stop trying to change it I tell myself. Move on.

Edit. It’s fun to complain on APC. Lively responses!

I have not experienced anything of the sort in four years. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. of course, but it does suggest it’s nowhere close to 100% as was stated earlier. What I have experienced are pilots who are frustrated because of their schedule and that frustration comes out in various ways.

Bump. Anybody seen any? Haven’t seen in the few crew rooms I’ve been in. Thx.

They stopped selling them on the company website, which was the only source, because we have a little pilot entrepreneur at SkyWest that got caught with his side hustle.

I know this is a large benefit. However I am considering SKW because of basing. I live in San Diego and own my home here so the commute may be better from here.

Does anyone know current offers for class dates?
