I don’t think that’s the same as refusing to volunteer to work overtime though.
But to infer, even in the slightest, that you think other pilots should also stop picking up overtime, is 100% an illegal work action. |

For you the individual pilot it’s not, even if you used to pick up some occasional ovetime before the contract became amendable.
But to infer, even in the slightest, that you think other pilots should also stop picking up overtime, is 100% an illegal work action. I’ll publicly state that “I’m wrong, if you want to pick up overtime you absolutely should.” I will point out that it looks like at least half of the Delta 49 were ALPA reps so I’m sure that was more of a grudge with ALPA than the individual employees, but nonetheless I can see the point. It’s just ****ty that even voluntary pickup of work isn’t available to get the company’s head out of its own butt and make some moves to be industry leading. But whatever, I capitulate. If the airline collapses it is what it is. Seen this before though. Feel bad for the folks sticking around if it happens. |

My departure just before upgrade has everything to do with my experience at OO. Could be a million reasons- might be one. Regardless. The company status quo is to upgrade. TG says “there’s simply no reason not to upgrade”. The truth is so very different, sir. 20 or 30 some upgrades per month last three months. Look it up. 120 or 140 captain departures per month. Look it up. A metric ton of high hour FOs leaving without upgrade. That’s the sad truth. It got real sad working there watching the exodus. Figured maybe I should be part of it. That said, I had an entire career (with upgrade) planned with OO. 175 Captain. I was wrong to think that. Hard to say what the current status quo is. It will likely need to change (money and qol) for SkyWest to be more then a parent company 135 and leasing op. My perspective. But I’m gone. Sun will still rise. Pray someday they value real pilots. |
Any good way to share schedule with wife/family? Crew Connect Lounge seems to be a bit buggy and funky. Any other ways?
