Skywest Seniority

Just a heads up: Skywest pilot seniority is NOT based on Indoc. It's technically based on start of Ground School. If you finish indoc then get a training delay before ground school, your pilot seniority WILL reset. On all skywest documents and on SWOL it will say your date of hire is your first day of INDOC. But if you take a training delay before ground school (which is very common), any other new hires that go to ground school in the meantime will definitely be senior to you on the seniority list. It's confusing and completely ridiculous.

Thanks. Any training delays other than class dates pushed out.

There's currently a 6-8 week delay between indoc and ground school on the ERJ, I was in the 12/5 indoc class and we've been told to not expect a ground school date until mid-February. I've heard there's a much shorter delay on the CRJ side.

Thanks for the info. He wants to be based in DFW and so he’ll have to go for the CRJ

I’m sure this has been asked before, but I’m new to this page and still figuring it out. I’m still short the 250 FW PIC hours for a R-ATP and looking for options to get that. Has anyone had any recent luck with Skywest on getting hired to finish your fixed wing training or how does that process work? Also, we are open to moving out of training if hired and wondering what the possibility is of getting ATL right out of training? Thanks for any help!

Are you expected to show up to CTP with 1500 or is 1475 good as the sims will take care of the rest?

1475 is good. But have some extra hours in case there are any logbook surprises.

It was 2-3 or three months, I think. Two or three months is BS though.

When do you get access to study materials like FOM and SOPM? Will have a month break between my last day of work and class date and would like to start knocking out limitations and callouts early if possible
