Early in indoc or systems you will get a presentation that shows all the domiciles for your type aircraft and a lesson on how to fill out a "Dream sheet" of your desired base in order of preference.
Those dream sheets are processed by HQ in seniority order, with the most senior person in class having his domicile awarded, then number two, 3, etc down to the most jr new hire who gets the last slot available.
Your assignment will be awarded the last week of systems, before sim.
After that there is a Monthly Domicile Vacancy Report (DVR) posted online about the 20th of the month, with a mostly inaccurate guestimate of what slots will be be available for transfers, transitions and upgrades. The senior bases are most accurate but even they are almost as good as a monkey throwing a dart at a board, with slots at the more jr bases being totally worthless as they are getting backfilled as those pilots move to the more desirable bases.
These awards are done the last few days of the month with class dates about 5-9 weeks out, or transfers effective the first day of the next month ( Nov 1st transfers will be awarded about Sept 29th), so that fly your October schedule at your old domicile but can bid your new domicile schedule during the October PBS run .
Class seniority is covered earlier in this thread but is basically Date of Hire (previous employee as a ramper, dispatcher, Flight attendant, intern, cadet) then true new hires based on last four of your social security number with XXX-XX-0001 being senior to XXX-XX-9000.

Here are a bunch of rumors that I have heard going around. LGA will either close or very slowly become a skeleton base with a small number of crews there. That will start happening this fall. I have also heard that the reason for this latency stuff with United is that Mesa's contracts are up starting in August-December and United came to us and told us to get that latency down and we will get more united flying. We could see an announcement about that before the end of the year. Thats why we have started doing more flying out of IAH on the 175. SEA will become one of our largest 175 bases behind SLC. PDX will also grow as well. That's what I've been hearing going around. Time will tell with the United stuff.

Selection process is in class they'll give you a sheet with the bases and list them in your most preferable order, and you'll get sent wherever there are openings or where you're needed.

I'm surprised it's junior on the west coast. Based on seniority list I have a pal that was in my class and appears he's got a line now. We're 6 months in.

I'm SFO and have a full line for October after getting here in July.. I Was 48 now i'm 43.

Default When to apply?

I just saw in another thread that a person interviewed on August 27 and got a CRJ class for April 20. If I am looking for a start date anytime after May 1 should I be applying now? How long does it take to get an interview date after applying? How long after interview does the CJO come?

TIA

What's your total time? DOesn't hurt to apply and get an email. Usually it shouldn't take more than a few days to get something scheduled.

Has OO increased flying in IAH on the 175? I’ve started to notice a few routes this month that we haven’t been flying in the past. Is there any truth to this or are we just covering routes for other airlines?

I applied with 900TT (1,475 for class) knowing I would need 6 months to finish my hours. I decided to take a chance and apply “early”. Now I’m glad I did. They called me less than 24 hours after applying to set an interview date. They called me the day after the interview with a CJO and class date. YMMV.

Thanks for the info, how many days was it between application and your CJO?
