Pretty sure the newish PRD system asks for the separation reason.

There are allowances in the PRD for separation reasons. It is up to the employers for fill that out. Some do, some don't. There can be legal ramifications for what they can put in there. This is a mixed bag of nuts as there are different regulatory bodies involved. What would be acceptable for one is not for others.
