honestly would say ORD cause it has one of the largest selection of trips. ERJ or CRJ its a large base with a lot of options

Good advice, small bases suck for commuters, especially juniors.

Thanks for the tips. Rechecked my email from SkyWest and I'm on the CRJ not ERJ. The excitement of getting a class date overlooked the actual airframe. So CRJ it is. Stoked!! Now trying to figure out best base. I was also thinking ORD simply by looking at google flights to see where I can commute the easiest from.

Oof a Florida commute is gonna suck regardless. ORD is certainly a junior base, and likely to stay that way for a while. If you're goal is to get in and out, would be a good choice. DTW also an option, little to no -200s as well!

Unfortunately DFW is senior and IAH is small, both would be hard to get into.

This was just a few years ago and a relative of mine. When he hit 500 PIC he heard from everyone in about 60 days. I would also bet I have far more recent data on hiring at Delta than you do. Spend a week on a boat with someone doing interviews and you learn things.

Just a few years ago... "A few years ago" the majors were hiring high time FOs from the regionals. The whole industry was in a hiring scramble. The hiring climate is not the same today as it was "a few years ago".

Lol I've never heard someone refer to between 700-1000 sic and 1500 Cessna hours as a "high time FO" but yes the industry was nuts back then and anyone trying to move now should ignore those data points as it will likely cause more disappointment and frustration than actual career guidance.

I start training soon on the CRJ, looking to get either DEN or COS. I have heard that CRJ flying on the west coast is dying. Anyone have any insight if the CRJ will disappear completely from the west anytime soon? Is there still a DMA program for the CRJ out of DEN or is it all ERJ now?

When was your interview date AvgAirplaner? Are you going to a class date in February?

In DEN or COS the only west coast airport you'll see is LAX on a turn from SGU or PRC. One trip I flew had an odd mixed partner thing with an AA leg LAX-DEN but that just skipped a step. If you want to be on the coast the CRJ is the wrong airplane. Bases are small and not growing. Whether it will disappear completely is up to the mainline partners. CRJ flying in general is not getting any better and new destinations are mostly EAS. No CRJ DMA in DEN.
