I hear there's rumor chat in the sim lately. SKW buying EDV. Think about it.
SKW has all these orders inline for production for the e175. 9E has none that I know of and deliveries would be years away behind OO deliveries. 9e was distraught that OO got Mesas crap crj9s for flying/parts, which a few were scrap and corroding but good to part out to sustain the OO crj9 op. Where was 9e? Too late to the show. Can't fly the crj7/9 forever when it's hard to find parts. SKW will convert 9E crj7 to the crj5 and will fly pro rate and part out the crj9s when needed. Its only time, OO will be flying only the Erj and slowly phasing out the crjs with 9e equip and parts. Its coming.Skywest is always thinking 10 years ahead of the game folks. Peace out

That plan was at least part of the reason they bought ExpressJet, to get their ticketing system.

They did sell tickets way back in the day (when I was a kid), and I think have always had a Plan C to revert back to that in a pinch.

Although the odds of success would be pretty low IMO, the big network carriers have a pretty good lock on the market, and ULCC niche markets seem better suited by NB economy of scale, rather than expensive RJ frequency. It's been tried before, didn't go well.

I’ve thought about this every once in a while. What would happen if regionals finally got pushed out by the majors. I don’t think it would go well either, but you’ve got to admit, if any regional could make it work and possibly survive, it would be Skywest.

The Regionals aren't getting pushed out, thats how the majors make all their money. Outsource majority of flying for way lower labor rates...

you say that but when we can only carry 39 passengers on a Fargo to Denver flight on a CRJ-550 because mainline pilots think their jobs are threatened, what makes you think the next contract won’t push us out completely?
