If you don't need CTP that's one less thing to fit into the schedule. My class had several people join after the rest of us completed CTP. There are a limited number of sim slots for CTP so that's probably the limiting factor on class sizes for those without an ATP already.

Hard to tell. I have two friends that started at the end of July, both on a waitlist. The first one interviewed way back in the spring of this year and had an August or September date, but was called maybe a month or two after the interview for the late July class. The second guy interviewed around early July, was given January, but put on a waitlist and told "you might get called soon." They called him on Monday and he was in class on Friday. So it happened in 2-3 weeks for him with a last-minute call. The first guy had been a cadet for about two years and had his hours just before his new date. The second guy had his hours before he even interviewed, and didn't live in Utah (since some people suggested living in SLC might help).
