Can’t speak for ERJ classes. But CRJ is 0-4 per class (thats on a class size of 55-60). I would guess the ERJ is low 1-2 ( class size of 20-30) do to the SJS that’s involved with that aircraft... i will ask around this week see if i can get a better ERJ answer..

The guy I sat next to in my class was 1 seniority below me. After completion of training and IOE we went to the same base. I was only Reserve for 1 month and he ended up sitting reserve for 6. A lot of people always say how great seniority it is, but you never realize how much it matters until you get to an airline and realize how much it literally affects your QoL and pay. You never know how it is going to fall. It may not matter at all or you could fall 1 slot lower and be sitting there for months.

With systemwide training backups a lot of people are applying to - and getting accepted at - multiple regionals. Simultaneously swimming in multiple pools, often they’ll just take the first class date they get, leaving vacancies in one or more future classes at the other places they were accepted. If you are flexible enough to jump in to one of these, it can seriously shorten your own waiting time.

I’m not an expert by any means in this, and the industry changes rather quickly.

Personally, I think the shortage temporarily is over. I think you have a few regionals that have over hired, and now it has folks sitting reserve for as long as a year (not at OO, at least CRJ side), but I’m curious to see how it evolves in the next few months with how large these classes are! I think OO is going to saturate soon as we are over 5000 pilots now and classes of 55 CRJ side .

So it should be fairly easy to get a spot if you're available short notice (CRJ).
