Flowbacks are not happening anywhere.

Skywest threads are all full of guys saying their farewells like they already got the furlough notice lol drama queens

You quit your job to become the most junior person at another company during these times? I’m only 70% company-wide. So, I don’t anticipate doing real well if there are furloughs, but I’m not gonna preemptively leave before that happens. Seems way too risky.

Lol is right. Flying is a diminishing skill. I am thankful to snag a paid 91 gig during the meltdown... was prepared to fly for free this summer to keep current and collect unemployment for the bills. Perhaps I’m the only one.

so you quit a regional to go fly 91, or your offer was pulled?

Was pilot in training. The first (and hopefully only) involuntary Skywest vtos. I’m ok with it as I completely understand the business decision.

Now I gotta do what I gotta do for flight time. I was trying offer the advice that applicants should protect what they have today vs. worry about a CJO.

Good luck. Stay flying!

You see what I don’t understand is if Skywest decided to cancel the new hire class and send y’all to the streets, why are other regionals (ExpressJet, Envoy, etc...) allowing their new hires to finish training? I feel that the airline screwed you over as well as some of my friends.

Well when the local government mandates that no more than 10 people can be in a space together for ‘social distancing’, it’s kind of hard to run a classroom of 50 people...

Will SKY management honor soft landing policy to UAL furloughed pilots? I know the contract stipulates 2nd year pay, but most will have a decade or more of 121 experience.

probably. But Skywest will be furloughing by the boatload also so there won’t be jobs for the 3-5000 likely to get furloughed at UA. That’s why many analysts are predicting a 3-5 year slump/ career freeze.
