Yeah right, sweet reply. If only it was that easy, just get your time and leave, simple as that! Most regional pilots will spend at least 5 years at their carrier, most a lot longer. That means we should be doing everything we can to increase wages and QOL.
You can **** off with that mindset.

Mikes departure and the negative change to reserve and ready coincide. Coincidence?
Not that it matters but I’d be a no vote anyway.

Probably half the pilot group at OO have only known once you hit minimum hours to upgrade, you’re locked for an upgrade class date. So it’s tough to be surprised on why you see the complaints.

We had a guy upgrade out of new hire training. That’s why you’re seeing the kicking and screaming. In my case, once I had hit my hours, I upgraded. They emailed my upgrade award prior to having the required hours to upgrade speculating I’d reach the minimum requirement just prior.

Maybe that is why they brought the express jet executive over to be our executive before express jet folded because they are ready for a union here and he has union experience.

Republic might have a bit more of a headwind with all of the LGA commuters that they created.

It’s pretty terrifying that someone with so little industry experience in both longevity and flight hours can act as PIC of an airplane filled with passengers
They have us beat good when you compare contracts, no debate, CA pay rate as well (that needs to change or OO should expect serious attrition). But guess who has the faster upgrade and more desired domiciles? SkyWest was an easy choice for me. My priority was domicile (MSP) and quick upgrade. I came from 141 with less that 1,000 hours and upgraded in a year and 7 months because I lived in base so I flew my rear end off as an FO. SkyWest was not only the easy choice, but the correct choice. I have every intention to move on to better things, but I have enjoyed my time so far working for this company. I will say this though, the contract is not good enough, open time pickup pay increase is crap, reserve rules crap, and the CA pay does not compete with RPA or 9E. Although remember who has the faster upgrade, hence faster opportunity to move up.
It was easier to complain less about it prior to COVID-19 because those pilot bonus’s were paying out nicely.
