How do the north korea type actions from sapa not prove to the general membership that sapa is a management trojan horse and that the horse needs to be put down and real respresentation needs to be brought in.
Does this forum shut down not convince even the most die hard pro company pro sapa guys that it is all a lie?

Would they really fire you for this? Couldn't you do it at the hotel? At xjt, the ALPA membership committee is given half a day during indoc to counsel the new hires.

I personally also thought the forums were getting a bit out of hand. At the same time I think we need a place where the pilot group can discuss things like the pay package. Silencing the forums right before the sends a pretty nasty message.
Also unrelated to the pay vote, most of what I know about PBS I learned from reading through threads on the SAPA forums where people posted questions, posted their bids for critique, and posted about mistakes they made with their bid. With a system controlling our lives that is as complicated and mis-understood as PBS we really need some place where pilots can ask questions to the masses.

Gents - (and ladies)
Re forums: That guy went way out of line. It is ok to disagree with someone, it is not ok to post pictures of ones house. What's next, posting pictures of his kids going to school ? Not cool. Says more about your persona.
I understand what he was trying to do, that is not how you do it. Not ok.
That said he should have been banned. Forum should remain open.

ALPA shut down our forum at Delta. The lifers in the DALPA office hated free thought and free speech.
We started our own forum and it has been an overwhelming success.
We rejected a joke of a contract and are now recalling the Yes voting reps.
I think they would all agree shutting down our forum was the biggest mistake they have ever made.
Social media was also extremely effective in rejecting the substandard agreement and recalling those who do not represent our best interests.
Good luck attaining what you so richly deserve.
