Getting back into flying for the airlines after being gone since '06. Looking at SkyWest and I was wondering if you guys can share any info on flying the line in MSP. In particular:
-types of planes based there now and in the future
-can you get based in MSP right away
-typical # of days off
-percentage of day trips available
-prototypical multi day trip composition
-is the base growing for Skywest
-what the crews are like to fly with up here in Minnesota
aaaaand go!

Easy to get as a base, lots of mix now (200/700/900) and more 900's shifting that way.. lots of commuters so easy to get 1-3 day trips.

I try to not believe in the grapevine but it sounds like this SAN thing has some traction.

Thanks for the info! Do you bid to fly just one of the CRJs or do you fly all variants at the same time?

CRJ200/700/900 are all based there. Mainly 200 flying obviously and 700/900 is a good amount but decreasing because DTW is getting some of that flying now. No you can't get it right away. The base is very stagnant right now and not much movement in terms of FOs. Hopefully that will change soon. The crews are excellent and I've yet to really run into anyone who wasn't easy to talk to. Let me know if you have other questions.

I heard the same thing. I'll believe it when I see it.

Are you guys serious about SAN becoming a base? Is this just a rumor at this point or does anyone in the know have some concrete evidence of this coming to fruition? Could be life changing for some SD pilots.

We will know by end of next week the rumors say
