But there is a history of mx bases and crew bases right? Keeping my fingers crossed for BNA! Although, DFW would be ok as well

You ever gotten a plane out of mx in BNA? You wouldn't say that if you had. I would have thought that at the least mx would know the battery master should be on before they use ground power. Although I guess COS is a base and they're not any better.

I don't remember the exact reason, but mx leaves the master off for a reason. Its not incompetence.

There "was" a history... the new guys are data/spreadsheet driven.. and what im told that doesn't support mx base, crew bases...

And the reason they leave the battery master off with gound power on. Is so the plane just goes dark if it fails or gets pulled.. no adg drop..

There's also a few Mx bases that aren't crew bases. BNA has been a maintenance base for over 3 years so I doubt it'll suddenly become a crew base. DFW is probably more likely but that's been a rumor for 5 years minimum.

Being rationale - aka data/spreadsheet driven in itself is probably a good thing. Keeps us competitive and avoids doing stupid things.

The question is how much "inefficiencies" is SGU willing to accept for the sake of QOL, employee happiness etc. More importantly, that is very hard to capture in a spreadsheet and hence will likely be undervalued.

I'm reasonably confident that BOI will eventually become a crew base. Resistance from the pilot group would probably be the only reason it wouldn't. A BOI base would significantly dilute the SLC base, and the company will certainly listen to those voices. Senior dudes will not want their seniority damaged by moving flying to BOI.

When? Maybe need more 175s on property.

BOI will be pretty senior...already a lot of folks live there, it's cheap, great lifestyle location, and without some of the odd cultural vibes found in SLC.

I wonder if the spreadsheet data supports having headquarters in SGU. Hint: it does not

No it doesn't. They have talked about moving it before. To COS or SLC. Or even just moving Dispatch. Im confident BOI will be a ERJ base. Maybe in 2018. After all ERJ's are delivered and flying stabilizes...
