Even if these both go senior it should generate movement downstream. my question is when domicile awards create new vacancies, do those slots get filled on the subsequent award or the same ?

I'm still new (just so I don't get flamed for not being on property for over a year) so this is only information I've looked at over the past 6 months but to answer your question from what I concluded...no.

When I was looking up SLC people leaving to bringing in over the past like 5 months it was 2:1. Other bases might be different, you can see the awards by date with the calendar button and see what the trend is like where you want to go. Seems like a bit much but anything to make myself feel better about commuting to reserve for months lol.

Usually the same. Get your bid in if you want to catch the wave.

Will be real interesting what happens to the SAN flying when the JCBA is done this fall with AS. I wouldn't get too comfortable with the SAN base.

3 things are being hammered out right now. Scope, pay, retirement. If the pilot group and Management can't come to an agreement by Aug it goes to arbitration. The arbitration decision deadline is Oct 16 give or take.

I do know that with all the 175 service that is being planned scope has moved to the top of the list to get hammered out. There are a lot of VX guys living in SoCal and if AS shrinks the Airbus out of LAX, which sounds like that's the plan, and displaces them to PDX or SEA it's not going to sit well with all of the guys that moved to LA. And that level of frustration is hitting new levels with the announcement of the 175 base in SAN.

So needless to say anything less than solid scope protection will be a no vote for most and the company and the MEC knows this.

They are not going to be able to say no 175's. They could cap it at current orders, but be carful what you wish for. They could say. You want DL/UA pay...??.. then DL/UA scope... that would be more 175's.... (numerically vs size of AS operation)

SLC is different from the rest, it's been overstaffed off and on for years, instead of paying ppl to go to different base they just haven't replaced them
