I've seen some actual schedules from a couple of the top legacies. Most were pretty brutal, IMO. Back to back trips with one day off then a 4 day, etc. all while capped at max line value... That seemed more regional-like to me than SW's 3 days off following 3+ on, but I could be wrong.

Calling in sick on a premium trip pays the straight value, not premium.

Pretty sure he means calling in sick to keep your block down to pick up more premium.

I don't know... I fly for one of the aforementioned cargo guys, and with a full year of flying (so far), I've blocked 193 hours.

I was referencing passenger airlines. My buddies at the main cargo carriers sometimes have trouble staying current while making the $$$, lol.

I have.

I am not going down this rabbit hole again. I have no qualms with how our lines are written compared to our brethren at legacies, no PBS is a huge advantage as is our flexibility, (which was far better before SWApA gave much of it away for free).

That said, I'd have to work about an extra week per month at SW (like RJS does ), to equal the pay that my legacy peers of relative seniority (mostly wide body Capts), make in the same number of days I work now.

Sorry Slip, but we both know it doesn't take 20 days of work to equal legacy pay. At 20 days, you'll blow it away by wide margins. Even at 15-16 days of work, you'll still blow it away and that's what a good number of their lines are built to. Now granted, we are comparing apples to apples, i.e. narrowbody pay, and I know, you're upset and disappointed that we're not flying B-777's.

But hey, look at the bright side... you can dabble on CWA and make equivalent of 95 hour credit of Delta's B-777 captain by only flying 137 TFP in a month as a B-737 captain. You certainly don't have to beat the current league record of 408.50 TFP in a month to match your Delta B-777 captain/check airman neighbor.

Slip, this is false. I just pulled up a senior 767 line at a carrier I won't disclose.

I think you need to do a little more research and open-minded...

It’s about time away from base, not block hours.

Or even better yet... time away from HOME (Mrs., kids, dog, toys, etc.)
