Default 737 Type

I know the merits of buying the type have been beaten to death on this website. So I"m really only looking for suggestion on places to get the type.

It seems that Higher Power Aviation has been bought out or is not in business anymore. Can anyone recommend another place?

Curious why you feel it's still necessary? If you've been to a job fair recently, you heard Rocky specifically state not to get the rating, save your money. Follow directions...

Just want to make sure you know that the type rating is no longer required for employment at SWA anymore.

Very average resume

College Degree
6000+ total time
1500+ hours 121 PIC
not a check airmen
I don't want to wait another 3-5 years to get 8-10K hours
I personally know 2 guys with my background got calls after getting the type. Its an investment, a way for a average guy to stand out.

But thanks for all the good answers

.......this site has gone downhill for sure

One of my buddies last year thought he had no chance at SWA. Very similar resume to yours. Went to Sun Country and had an interview at SWA within three months of getting the type.

Technically I got mine at ATP in Arlington Tx, but Higher Power had just been purchased by ATP.

I highly suggest it. It will certainly make you stand out, particularly if you have the type with zero experience in the 73.

I was hired with 4600 TT and 1040 TPIC (almost all part 121).

Once hired, you will make the money back in just a few months.

Have you been to a job fair? Do you update frequently? Have you applied for leadership roles within your company/union? These are all things you can do to make yourself standout without going against the advice of the manger of pilot hiring. But if you feel that getting the type rating is your only option, then I hope it pays off. We're just trying to save you some money and point you in more effective directions.

FYI most places offering the type now only have the NG option. You’re looking at 14K.

You may look at FTI in Denver.
