Default SWA hiring

Heyas, figured I would attempt to make the jump to the airlines. I noticed I just missed the app window at SWA. You guys think there will be another before the year is out? I would like to get my resume into that stack of billions already there.

I would ASSUME that they will open a window on the 16th to correspond with their career fair. They have done so in the past.

Default SW Assistance

I am prior military and with a regional 121 carrier, building time. Is there anyone on board with SW that wouldn't mind reviewing my resume to make sure the content and format are consistent with their likings. I hear too many different techniques that I am afraid I am gonna be outside looking in.

Thanks for your help.

It’s worth paying a professional service to do that.

careertakeoff.com has resume and application review services, plus interview prep. Worth the money, no question about it.

Just as an fyi... I went in for my 9 month board and happen to ask the chief about hiring. He mentioned August would be the last month of hiring for the year as we have the quota. Just what he mentioned....

Do you mean no more interviews after August or no more classes? Either way I would take that with a huge grain of salt. The latest hiring numbers were just updated on Jun 12th. 756 new hires approved for the year.

Number of classes planned each month (26 per class)
July 3
August 2
September 2
October 3
November 2
December 1

Again not doubting that is what he told you just not sure it is real accurate.

I was told in my leadership training recently that the number of newhires had been increased this year from the original number, and there would be 3 more classes added. Classes would run through Dec.

I have always been told that there is no quota for the current year, but they can’t hire for they next year until the budget for that year is approved.

They’re nuts then. We have never been more over staffed than we are right now. At the height of the Summer flying schedule and there is barely any open time in either seat, let alone premium. Hiring that many going into the Fall and Winter will be ugly not just for those of us already on property, but for new hires as well. I like to see new hires just like everyone else, but only when they are actually warranted.
