Default Vacation

I’ve search but can’t find any specifics.

How does vacation work a SW? How much do you get as you gain seniority?

Thanks!!

With our line bidding and vacation overlap, you can easily turn one vacation week into 3 weeks off if you so choose.

Correct. This is my second year and had a 10 day block due to the prorated amount from last year. Just got my line for next month and with vacation drop I have 25 days off, 22 consecutive with a credit of 92 TFP for the month. Thats being a junior guy, just think what I could do as a senior FO.

It’ll be in February or October unless you’re in the top 3% in your seat... but it’ll be 3 weeks in February or October!

I managed this year for the first time. Took a three way trade to make it happen though.

Trying to strategize now for 2019 to figure out what the most lucrative weeks might be for trading currency. (sigh)

Default Vacation

First of all, I start my SWA pilot training this fall. I know NOTHING about the vacation time and bidding, except what I've read here. My longtime neighbor passed away and his widow wants us to visit her in Thailand when she moves back, preferably in my first year of employment. I'd love to put together 3 weeks to go out or at least give her a reasonable expectation of when we would be able. With international travel advance purchase timing and the bidding program, is there any way I could reasonably expect to do this?
