Fantastic. Sorry they put you through that. Wouldn’t be surprised if many in your group have moved on. |
Thank you, everyone! Not sure when they're looking to bring everyone on by, but an email said possible July meetings via Zoom. A friend mentioned he heard maybe October-December-ish timeframes for classes, but I haven't seen/heard anything from SWA on that.

Yeah or at Delta or UPS or FedEx... whatever works best for you. They can't expect people to sit by their phones hoping for a phone call for the next six months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Absolutely, don't lock onto one company. I like it here, but I know it's not the only great job out there. SWA shot down a friend of mine just before COVID -- he's now a UPS 747 FO!

exact same thing with a guy I interviewed with. The next month he was hired by UPS. In fact of the 8 of those interviewed with me 4 got the CJO and only I showed up for class.

No matter what class date they give you, call and ask for an earlier class!

CJO is being honored, mostly. Gonna be a brief rundown of changes, and then sounds like offered a class date if all goes well. Definitely NOT the full-blown interview!

Soooo I suppose I feel a bit silly asking, given how insane 2020 was and how current conditions are, but do you all still see OAK and BWI as the junior bases? With all the early outs and everything else, any ideas which bases may be first obtainable? Obviously, I've got quite a bit of time to kill between now and then (and I still have to get the CJO back). I'm so out of the loop after this last year. Is DEN still expanding a lot?

LAX and OAK are the junior bases with most of the recent growth being in the etops bid groups. So much so that we’ve had several displacements into these bases and the current flight attendant hiring window is targeted towards California residents only. Who knows what things will look like in a few months, but currently there are a lot of unhappy commuters.

True. But when mama starts complaining that I'm not home for whatever obligations I promised but failed to deliver, then I am officially at the in the dog house, and no amount of JA or reroute pay solves that problem. If I were a single man or had a less demanding spouse, I'd be much more motivated by JA money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Dude you should take some of that furlough fund and buy yourself a fun toy.
Then stop worrying about this job. |

We'll get a contract a week after training tells the board we can't fill new-hire training classes because of a lack of well qualified applicants. Later that day, the hiring guys will get sacked because obviously they're the ones losing us money that week. Then when SWAPA previews their billboard discussing in detail the new lower new-hire standards, Dave Ramsey will go on the air calling us greedy rats. That's how we'll know we've won, and the TA that drops a month later will only be 5-10% below industry standard.

Hah Zap, im glad my wife doesn't mind if I show up a day late or have to commute out for work. As long as she gets to buy what she wants she is happy. So its a trade off, shoes for work I guess.

So back on topic, anybody think there will be a "big announcement" coincident with the 50th anniversary next month? Maybe Anchorage? Or Toronto? Halifax? Montreal? Bermuda? Knoxville?
Or a competitive response to the Breeze flying out of Tampa and Pittsburgh? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
