WN is re-establishing its interview team. The team will need to be trained up.
WN is not currently interviewing or hiring, but one could reasonably expect that process to begin in the near future. How near? Unknown, but I would expect they do not want to be the last to get started. Opinion only. |

Can someone confirm for me that SWA is NOT currently hiring?
Also, what has been the historical training pay for new hire pilots from start of indoc to completion of their type rating? Thanks in advance. The company is also putting interview teams together. So, no SWA is not currently hiring.... but all indications are they will start very soon. |

Why is everyone so optimistic about a merger? They rarely go over well. Organic growth is best and we definitely have the means to do so. We just need the cojones to do it.

Because you can only fly to Omaha so many times in a week. You need gates and slots at some of the largest airports and organic growth can never get you what is already on lock down.
That said, they’re beating the same drum about NK that they were about AirTran. Specifically, that they’re really becoming a legitimate competitor so I can see them going after NK. Now who’s going to take all those nice Airbuses off SWA’s hands? |
I don’t see them wanting to buy anyone right now. 2-5 years? Maybe. For a good deal. I doubt they’d consider themselves in a financial position to buy anyone currently.

Agree. If anything they're spotting Avelo and if they go under, they'll snipe their tails for cheap.

Do you mean some of the largest airports like ORD, MIA, IAH, LAX, DEN, BOS and ATL? You’re right, we’ll never get there...

My memory tells me if WN were to operate out of DFW, it would have to vacate Love Field/DAL. And THAT is not going to happen.
Discuss. I believe it would be gate for gate. Still not going to happen. |

I was under the impression that all expired in 2025 or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Good luck to all the re-interviewees this week! Hope we all see each other in a class down the road.

It technically never expires, however, the provision for giving up one gate at DAL for every gate taken at DFW does starting in 2025. So, I would expect a Fall 2024 announcement of intent to serve DFW starting in early 2025. I would expect WN will want something substantial when they do start DFW. Probably 10-15 gates minimum at launch would be my guess.
