I’ve been wondering the same thing. Is the State subsidizing them or something?

No, they're hurting as bad as everyone else. I think they have a decent amount of cash, but no revenue is no revenue. Their fickle governor isn't helping any.

They had 5 months to get ahead of this, and in classic Hawaii government fashioned, failed epically.

Liquidating some assets with the certainty of being smaller and to bolster cash. Banking on summer 2021 or else....

Nobody seems to want to partner.

We might...

Mark my words: The company will whip out their checkbook and buy somebody before this is all over. It's become a rather predictable move ever since Morris Air.

Serious question! Have you been paying attention to the TSA loads and the updates from management? I think the idea we would even look to buy someone is insane. The words from the VP of flights ops is we are just hoping to make it through this without furloughing anyone let alone burning more cash that they just borrowed from. I never seen people last month during training (management) look so somber and worried in my whole career at any airline I been at. This is my third one by the ways.

JetBlue, American, Alaska saw the benefit in a partnership. All while being over staffed. Must be a survivors tool in some fashion.

JetBlue, American, and Alaska joined up. All while being over staffed with too many planes.

How does code share compare with merger or acquisition? Your post is not on topic. I fully agree with the previous post, the one you responded to. Every airline right now is sh...ing pants right now. None of them are immune to furloughs, bankruptcy or even liquidation. Every one of them, including us.

Serious answer. No where did I imply that this would happen soon. While things could get A LOT more grim before they improve, they WILL eventually improve and I'm not going out on much of a limb by saying SWA will be one of the survivors. When the industry has regained it's footing and a recovery has begun, THEN you can expect an acquisition. Clear as mud?
