I have plenty of experience with two year olds. I think some of our 60 year olds are harder to deal with.
A two year old cannot be held to the same standard as a 60 yr old. A two year old lacks the developmental capacity to understand the reason for the rule like a 60 yr old does. I just feel for parents who are trying to get their two year old to comply and just can't, and it's not their fault, its an unrealistic expectation to put on a toddler. It's a feat just to get the toddler to sit still and not kick the seat in front of them, stand up and stare at the people behind them, or kick and scream for (name any reason). Traveling with kids is already difficult- something I didn't really notice or appreciate until I had one.

All I'm saying is when there are FAs who are having a power trip or seeing a rule too black and white or feeling like they have to justify their existence by being the police on the plane-- pilots, break the chain. Have some discretion, is this person saying screw you and the rules? Or is this a mom or dad with a toddler who has already had a long arduous day just getting from their house to this airplane and who just needs a little empathy and slack while they try to comply with the new normal?

We definitely don't need their money.
Nice attitude to have during the worst downturn in the history of the airlines. The airline who doesn't kick off toddlers will win lifelong customers

Maybe I didn't lay the sarcasm on thick enough.

Ah, just reread your comment in the context of what you were replying to, apologies for being that guy.

If there has to be a mask policy for children it should be the age where they can be a UM. If they aren’t old enough to fly by themselves then they aren’t old enough to have to wear a mask.

This thread has served its purpose and has already started to branch off into the typical political hot topics.

HQ has mandated masks for 2 and up. People agree that that mandate 3 times before they even get to the gate. While I agree that a velvet hammer needs to be used, the rule will stand and should be enforced. Failure to do so loses a lot more than one customer with a kid.

I’ll see your velvet hammer, and raise you a “wish I could place you on my avoidance bid list”.

oh wait, I’m 5-yr EXTO to avoid tards like you. OK bye.

This is a corporate issue, not an employee issue. If that is what they want, the line swine can not just disregard it.
