Yah. I was a fair amount over 35 and in the bottom 2/3rds of my class.

And a 12 year upgrade is for someone that waited. Ten is more like it for current pilots, newhires May see lower than that.

America is currently on the scooter. You'd think this covid thing would have people getting healthier alas they are getting heavier.

I was hearing that upgrade times should be coming down from that figure for current F/Os too.
I guess it depends on west vs east coast.

Ive heard the same rumor, but until I see it I’ll figure on ten from my hire date in 2015. Hopefully I will be surprised.

I’m a mid-ish 2015 hire also. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully you will be PLEASANTLY surprised. Just asking to be surprised is really tempting fate, particularly in an era when any virology Masters Degree student can do gain of function research…

Good point! The old STD test results “surprise!” Vs an unexpected upgrade surprise.

Info was asking a 13 year FO.

Sorry, but having to wait till 40 to start at your career company doesn't make the whole picture better... (ask me how I know)

Also, currently about 9100 pilots, about 400 retirements per year for the next 10 years, so to get to 50% without growth takes 11 years. If you can upgrade before you hit 60% there's a reason (work weekends, xmas, 4th/7.....).

What airline are you talking about with 400 retirements per year?
I remember SWA numbers in the 150-200 per year region
