In the class prior to current class and I can assure you this has been diluted and altered like a bad game of telephone. The newest guys are a small class of 9 or 10 and are all upstanding gents and happy to be here, fun and plenty self deprecating. It was another work group that went to HR about the baby/cane outside of our cave for sure seen during the company wide onboarding event. Some hidden woke keyboard warrior we’re guessing. The owl and baby proudly participated until a direct supervisor said to hide them immediately. Regarding the party for the next class, they asked for some help from us because there’s so few of them and they’ve already thrown in quite a bit and want to make sure they could throw the same party for the next class that they got from us (close to 60). Can’t blame them for that. The charity they donated to a children’s adoption something or another not sure where that came from? It’s a good class of humble guys here to have fun and be part of the traditions. Don’t know the baby personally but that’s not the vibe I got about him at all. He already has a heavy type from atlas or some cargo outfit either 74 or 77 so he’s not here for the type and seems to be just fine being the young guy. Just trying to help shed some light on what’s actually going on.

I was at the HQ last week and there was a new hire class eating lunch together. It looked like one of them had a cane with gadgets glued to it and another classmate had a big ‘Wise old Owl’ button on his lanyard.

Yep. Happened back then, and apparently again.

Ok. I misunderstood. I thought the narrative was that the new class was ruining traditions, and a specific individual in THAT (newest) class was the culprit. Not that this has happened multiple times in the past decade. Gotcha…..

So it happens from time to time for whatever reason. But overall the tradition lives on! Like most traditions really.
