From: DOWNGRADE COMPLETE: Thanks Gary. Thanks SWAPA.
Not if it’s individual pilots making the (obvious) decision not to pick up on a day when their colleagues are out in the blazing sun picketing to try and secure an improved contract for ALL OF US.
Honestly, this should be the most cut and dry thing and yet some of you are still trying to rationalize the inexcusable actions of others.

Looks like we're starting to find the vocal ones who are practically telling us that they will cross a strike line. And based on what I've seen over the years, I'm willing to bet if it did happen, this company would find more scabs among it's ranks than a Tampa crack ho. Likely more than any other major airline in the US.

I don't work at SWA, I'm sure there is council smarter than me advising SWAPA, but I do remember being warned against a coordinated effort to change status quo.

So everyone who flew today is a scab for crossing the picket line.

This is especially true if people do as suggested here and call and intimidate those who did pick up..

Except: we aren’t on strike, and today wasn’t a picket line relating to struck work. Informational picketing by off duty pilots isn’t a strike, therefore technically the fliers today that picked up OT are not scabs. We have to use that word ONLY for a strike. We haven’t even gotten to a strike vote….
We can say insensitive, not team players, ignorant, divisive, non-unified, whatever—just not scabs.

Yep. We (AA) had the same crap happen during our Wall Street picket earlier this month. I understand if guys couldn't get the time off, or had family obligations, etc. But foregoing the picket to go fly on days off? Yeah, that's straight douchebag material - I don't care the excuse. It's not the same as being a scab, but the behavior is coming from the exact same part of the brain.
