the company throws a welcome dinner the day before (you can bring a guest) and the class before throws a party after that. It’s a good time.

Happens frequently. Keep in touch with them and let them know you're available for an earlier date.

I moved up one. They called 2 weeks before and asked if I’d move up to one starting in 3 days. No family living nearby so paid to fly my mom in to watch the kids for a couple days. She couldn’t get off work to switch flights so I stuck with the class I moved up to. Would’ve put me 20ish numbers senior but based on my hire date (late 2015) it didn’t matter much as far as getting the base I wanted and QOL.

New hire parade is an overstatement …it’s “rah rah day” … there’s a day where HR gives a presentation to all working groups. It’s nice, it’s fun you get free swa stuff. It’s the day before systems starts so the whole pilot class is usually studying most of the time. At some point you walk down the hallway with current swa employees cheering you on and welcoming you to the team. You’ve seen it I’m sure, it’s all over linked in every week.

I don’t remember anything about it. Class after us had their party the night before and we all showed up late and hung over. Prob the best way to do Fly day.
