No kidding. That would be about number 25 on an easily compiled list of 75 to 100 reasons for a new guy to show this place his middle finger.

Some are naïve to the fact of how low a company will go and steal from the employees.

Unsat is right. I get the feeling the OP was not suggesting otherwise. Perhaps they were implying that there are already numerous reasons why one might consider such a move.

This forum is a resource. I’d rather come to a forum/groupme/WhatsApp/group text/ etc and hash out any questions first before going to an official source.

That way when I approach an official source I have a more put together plan.

Hello, interviewing soon. Considering multiple factors. Tracking the pay scale on APC for SWA. Question: what’s a safe guesstimate for year 1 pay on reserve without picking up any open time or factoring in junior mans and decreased winter flying. Trying to use a conservative number. Based on APC rates, not sure if it’d be a wash or break even being a FO there for the next 8 years. Thanks in advance.

edit: not sure if it’d be a smart move with a recession

$90,924 based on 100 TFP per month. Getting hired at any airline during a recession can be a risk.

Plan on around $100k. You can easily do way better.

I made $170k yr 2 and that was back in 2017. Pay rates are quite a bit higher now due to COLA increases.

Far as recessions go….I’d rather be here than anywhere else.
