If your guest is interested in learning about the WN benefits package, have them show up. Are they working on being spousal? Bring it on. If not, no need for them to show up. And if not, why are they there in the first place? Just so “Uncle John” can attend a party in Dallas?

My spouse had just birthed a child. She had NO interest in traveling to Dallas and sitting in conference rooms. She stayed home with the kids.
I would have liked for her to get those briefings, and sipped the Koolaid, but the greater good was for her to not attend.

Well said.

It's kind of like if you could somehow meld the movies Office Space and Idiocracy with the music video Wynona's Big Brown Beaver by Primus into a living experience. Southwest is weird special, kind of like it would have to be to live in a world like that.

I’m not sure if we’re THAT special weird but I’ve flown a few “sorties” that come close.

Yes, IOEs have gotten JA'd. Contract Admin is aware.

Kind of a new hire question - Any SWA folks use ZED fares on other carriers? Trying to weigh future travel options as the kiddos get older.

Yep. That's how we go to Europe.

Bear in mind that for whatever reason, we cannot purchase ZED for business class on other carriers which is ridiculous.

Heck yeah, thanks. Willing to share what those tickets to London usually cost and how available seats are?

Depends on the airline. Delta is Zed Medium so they are fairly steep. Others are Zed Low.

Loads depend on time. StaffTraveler app is your friend.

Europe has been insane lately, largely because of the long travel ban and because Asia is still restricted. AA at one point sent out a message to all its employees saying to stop giving out buddy passes because no D3 travelers got cleared over a busy weekend and it was causing problems. That has a ripple effect when those pax start looking for other ways home.

The key is to either be super flexible or go when kids are in school.

Maybe around $350 rt/pp and really depends on when you're traveling.

Because we can’t reciprocate the business class travel for others.
