Thanks folks, good info & helpful. Yep, was around in 08’ for the fiasco. Just wanted a realistic number to help see thru the co brief fluff.

Hello, interviewing soon. Considering multiple factors. Tracking the pay scale on APC for SWA. Question: what’s a safe guesstimate for year 1 pay on reserve without picking up any open time or factoring in junior mans and decreased winter flying. Trying to use a conservative number. Based on APC rates, not sure if it’d be a wash or break even being a FO there for the next 8 years. Thanks in advance.
edit: not sure if it’d be a smart move with a recession

Most reserves are easily doing 100-120 TFP a month flying what they get assigned on reserve. Not too hard to pickup extra if you want to. Anything picked up first year over your awarded amount pays second year pay. Awarded reserve lines are 90-95 TFP. Also eventually the new contract will come, and the pay rates are going to have to go up A LOT. It'll happen. If you come to SWA, you wont be hurting for money once you make it through training and hit the line. Unless you buy a lambo and a boat as a junior FO.

Yes, our contract pays hourly, daily, average, and trip rigs and has for a very long time.

Curious about timeline from CJO to call from a CP. I interviewed last week, CJO came the following day and the background check, finger printing and drug test instructions the day after. Some others in my interview group have received their calls this week. Just wondering if anyone has insight on what affects the timeline of getting your call/being able to schedule training. Thanks!
Should add that I received an email from a recruiting coordinator that my employment screening was successfully completed. *

Interesting. I just got an email saying that I had been selected by the Decision Committee and to look out for an email from the People Department regarding selecting a class date/uploading vaccination status. I wonder why some are getting the phone call...? Maybe that's still to come. I do now have access to the study material on PilotCredentials

I received the same emails, prior to a chief call. Interview Wednesday, CJO Friday, call on Monday. It may seem like an inconsequential thing to SWA pilots but I’ve heard crickets from DAL after confirming that my background check had been completed. Appreciate the welcome and clear movement towards a quick training date at Southwest.
