The quickest and best thing you can do to improve your QOL at SWA is to GET A LINE. Any line. This especially applies to commuters.
Reserves lose out on QOL and pay improving tools like ELITT, TTGA (for the most part it's impossible to trade or give away reserve), vacation pull, overlap pull, pay protection for next day reroutes, etc etc etc.
The worst line is better than the best reserve. There are very few people who prefer reserves in "slow" months, but with utilization well above 80 percent, those don't really exist any more.

This right here! And this is the primary reason so many bypass upgrade until they can hold a line in their preferred domicile. The flexibility when holding a line vs reserve is paramount at this airline.

I dunno, after a couple months of having a blank, I went back to reserve. Blanks were as many days of work and a much higher block liability in execution which limited my ability to pick up. Maybe a hard line is better.

And the statement of your trips on reserve being better than trips on lines is totally true. They're generally broken, which equals longer overnights, and involve tons of reroutes, but that's pretty common for everybody these days. And as a bonus, even with 80% utilization, you almost always get a day or two paid to sit at home.
Like I said, one man's trash. Caveat, of course, is if you don't have a consistent home schedule. I'm ok working set days of the week. And of course, our reserve rules need work, but in specific scenarios, it's not misery. -from a top 10% FO.

It was awarded to new hires in training on the SEP and OCT vacancy bids. Was not available to NHers on the NOV bid and they were awarded BWI(4) and the rest split between LAX and OAK.

DEN right out of training or 1-3 mos…depends where you are in class and vacancies. Landside/Airside parking is $36/mo. If you want covered at Park DIA or Fine it’s like $140/mo

DEN should be pretty soon out of training if it keeps growing. DAL will probably take a few more months but you should be able to get anything soon with the amount of hiring happening, even ATL.
