I haven’t sat reserve since my last 121 job….back then it was 0001 on day 1 till 2359 day 5 with no rest periods. Its a bit more complicated now.

It use to be that way here. Well except 4 days reserve blocks here.

I haven't seen them adjust the current day RAP to get you legal, and that is definitely shady if that is a common practice now. I wouldn't hesitate to call them on it every single time. Just say no and they will stop being enabled to pull shenanigans like that in the future.
I've definitely seen them adjust raps on the back end of a trip to be the following days reserve block legal, but I don't that i've seen my example actually take place. But I wouldn't put it past them! Calling fatigued is the best solution, as you say. They'll continue to push the limits until/unless we push back.

Yes, you're right. I stand corrected.

As a first year guy, if you pick up a trip assigned to a different reserve on your days off, does that extra fly pay at second year rates? Assuming you still worked all your normal reserve days and hadn't given anything away.

yes sir. So does bidding a reserve block from open time (including MOT) and anything assigned to it, while also giving you more utilization which is key if you're hoping to say home later in the month. Can only bid straight on reserve blocks but as you may know AR trips get reassigned frequently triggering premium, which would all be at 2nd year pay in your case.

Do TTGA pickups pay second year?

Depends.

If it's just a normal giveaway, then no. but that may help get you back to original line value which is necessary for any open time trips to pay 2nd year.
If it's a reserve assignment or JA in giveaway, then yes because those trips went through open time. But the Extra Fly requires a call to scheduling.

And again, I'm seeing new hires giving away 8-10 TFP to the company by bidding straight when they don't need to. It's comical.

Again, all it takes is to see if the other guy(s) is over the cap. I thought about texting the guy and telling him there's no need to give company 10 TFP by bidding straight and reference the contract with other bidders over the cap, but then again... if the new hire wants to donate 8-10 TFP of his/her hard earned dollars to Southwest Airlines, who am I to question their choices of charitable contributions?
