VSP, retirements, and almost no hiring for 3 years due to Max grounding and Rona. Takes a bit to catch back up.

Where are you going with this ? The company had no idea how long this virus driven economy would drive on. Looking back WN should have not offered the VSP to pilots and instructors. Hindsight is always 20/20 .

Looking back on it I should have taken the VSP (had I known the hiring environment was going to be this red hot).

Sounds like they might not even know until after the Pilot Desicion Board on the 24th? Not sure how they decide who goes to the PDB and who gets the CJO right away.

Whats the difference between Covid-19 when it’s cold and Southwest??
When it’s cold , Covid 19 still gets airborne..

Default Class dates

Anyone from the 1/9-1/13 interviews receive a class date yet? Got the CJO day after the interview (1/9) and got all the emails early this week regarding the completion of the pre employment process. All they said is to expect to hear from the People Department “very soon” regarding class dates.

Do you mind sharing your flying stats (TT, turbine time, etc) and whether your a prior military aviator or not?

I interviewed 1/10 and also got the CJO the next day and chief call a few days after. I got an email earlier this week that my background check was complete and to expect to schedule my class date soon but haven't heard back yet.
