I would've joined the 'BNA Believers' until Nashville went and did the dumbest move I have seen an airport do (other than Terminal C in MCO).

I'm now firmly on 'Team STL'.

You talking about the satellite terminal? Why would that matter.
Nashville is thinking long term. They are building an airport for big business growth and a large international footprint. They have the land, government, infrastructure, and tax structure to be the next north Dallas. In the meantime, someone has to transport all the struggling musicians and bachelorette party goers.

It’s a stupid design. In 2023 you shouldn’t ever have to rely on busses to get you from a main terminal to your gate. Should have built a bridge like SEA/LGA or an underground walkway like ORD/DTW/ATL.

especially on an uncontrolled ramp. Someone is going to hit a bus and that will be the end of that

Mgt told us a few weeks ago BNA would be a gimme but they want a ramp control first so until that’s done….it’s a maybe.

Agreed, but that stuff costs money. They want gates and they want them now. Those gates broke ground less than a year ago and it looks mostly finished. Imagine how long a tunnel would have taken. They don't care about things like ramp congestion or airspace constraints. They will put that burden on others to figure out. I certainly hope we aren't moving out to that trailer park, but I could see the ULCC gang happily packing up and moving out there if the price is right.

Ground controller also said that satellite terminal is TEMPORARY. They’re gonna tear it down in a few years once they get the expansion finished elsewhere. Thankfully we won’t be parking there.
