Doc says before we go nuts with tests and specialists and whatnot, do me a favor and cut out caffeine for two weeks and then come back and see me.
A week later, no more palpitations. He doesn't drink coffee (or caffeinated soft drinks) anymore. Sucks sometimes on early AMs or late PMs, but beats the alternative I suspect..

It's funny, I switched mostly to decaf to help with blood pressure, and after the two weeks of crushing headaches from the caffeine withdrawal, I don't miss it. I realized that it's the ritual, the hot cup in my hand, and the taste that I like, not really the caffeine. I might do an occasional cup when I'm crazy enough to do an AM, but otherwise I really haven't needed or craved it once I got it out of my system.
