Oh absolutely, I have no problem with them using every scrap of not insignificant leverage provided to them under the RLA to make whatever gains they need. Not sarcasm. If they were to utilize the credible threat of a legal strike, they would have considerable leverage. While training 20k FAs is significantly easier than training 11k pilots, it would still be a daunting task for the company.

Of course, the key there is "credible". Unfortunately, there is no where near the unity or drive in TWU to push all the way to a strike.

But anyway, I have no problem with them using whatever leverage they're able to muster to shoot for the moon. What I have a problem with is them using the considerable (and growing) leverage we've paid for with time and capital to try to me-too a contract rather than putting forth the hard work themselves.

The TWU sure tries to get the unity and drive to write up and terminate as many pilots as possible. I also agree we are carrying their water with the ME-TOO they always get. I do not see us getting POT for all trips and the beginning and end of each month. Nor do we get holiday pay for any other premium pay on top of VJA/POT pay. Sometimes they are getting 5x pay. We do not even get a true JA pay.

Then again, you get what you negotiate.

I welcome their input and opinions on this and any other forum available to the public. You want a pilot-only sounding board? Head over to the SWAPA forum. That place is garbage.

They ( the FAs). are now copy and paste what is posted here on their own forums. They are nuts, and they wonder why we want different hotels.

The same thing can be said about Dispatchers. They want CA pay but there have been many times when I had to tell them why their plan wouldn't work and what the new plan should be.

They want captain pay? YGTBSM. That’s absurd. Then they can go get their ratings, come up through the ranks and strap *DIRECTLY* into the 1.6 billion dollar responsibility of flying the aircraft.

I respect them and their jobs but they’re not putting themselves physically in the line of fire of all the risk we manage on a daily basis nor the negative health effects of our profession (circadian rhythm disruption, radiation, fumes, pressurization cycles, etc.).

But a real question.

Every year... WN throws out these few 20% off codes to us as a "reward."

Yet.... I have a close friend at DL who tells me that DL employees ALWAYS get 20% off regular fare tickets for both themselves AND ANYONE on their rss benefits....

So.... these 20% off codes we get.... does anyone know..... should these be something we ALWAYS get since its standard at other carriers?
If you want to really blow your mind you should see the deals UAL gets for all employees on positive space tickets. Way better than Delta’s 20%.

I often have said dispatchers have the best of both worlds. They can jump seat, get flight benefits, get paid very well, yet get to do it all from a desk while being home everynight. I too have much respect for them, but please, we are paid what we are paid not just because of the ratings but because of the lifestyle said ratings require us to live. Agree that we also carry the direct risk and responsibility of the aircraft/passengers.
