I do think it can come back, like I believe Delta can come back to what it was (we arent as premium anymore as we think we are).

The good news for both of us is that I believe SWA and Delta can weather a round of carpetbagging managers. It may be rough for the next few years though if this downturn ever kicks in. DAL and SWA are still my long term stock picks in airlines.

cheers bros!
Every airline has gone through its dumpster fire period, I lived through them at DAL and UAL. They turned it around with aggressive innovation (for them) and hopefully we can do the same.

Maybe the bruises are from the low 737 overhead which always seems to sneak in a smack while getting out of the seat for a taller pilot?

I don't wear my hat to work, but you can be darned sure I'll be wearing it with my

the model is done. At least they moved international flying to a base instead of outstation. They will need to become more hub/spoke to survive. Not entirely like big 3, but at least have focus cities to funnel traffic through for international flying.

I'd say the model doesnt work in times of prosperity but it works in a recession.
Maybe a hybrid model would work better?
A few premium cabins on premium routes

they’d have to convince our cabin and customer service employees that premium passengers deserve premium service. That might be a bridge too far.

I’m having trouble figuring out the difference between the current model and what you’re describing.

Did anyone actually read the article or are we all just commenting on the headline? I’m legitimately curious as to what it says, but the only option I’m given to read more is to sign up for a $200/year subscription.

In regards to this, the way our customers get treated is downright embarrassing and unprofessional. If I actually paid for tickets I’d either not fly SWA or the minute I’d get any disrespect from any ground Ops employee I’d call them out on it pronto.

The “attitude” on so many of them is appalling. It’s the ultimate in “cringe-worthy”.

I like to key up the PA and hold the mic next to my leg during boarding just to get some flipping silence. Everyone knows they need to put their bag in the overhead and sit down. Saying it 300 times doesn’t speed the process up.
