I felt bad because he'd obviously been invested in other things that they'd worked/struggled on. I get it. But it doesn't change my opinion, experience, nor the impact of the swapa podcast concerning the FA write up extravaganza that still seems to be an issue. (see the HOU rep's latest email)
same here….

Can you explain this girt bar thing? What are you checking and when do you have to check it? We certainly don’t do this at AA unless it’s a ferry flight or something without FAs.

on terminating flights the captain is required to scheme that the girt bars are not in the armed position to prevent inadvertent raft deployment. Making sure the FAs did their job…

Only the captain? Not the FO? Does that pilot have to wait for all pax to be off? What if the terminating flight is also the end of a trip- too bad CA, not driving home or commuting home just yet? What if there is another flight scheduled on that aircraft, but the next crew gets delayed or whatever and that flight gets cancelled and that aircraft gets a surprise termination for the night? Do they call in a reserve CA to check the girt bar?

Seems like a lot of loopholes. Pretty silly.

NO-ONE GIVES A DUCK about the girt bars, it’s all a cultural pressure to be sure the flight deck crew doesn’t leave without the FA’s…. Deleted rant followed

no idea but it’s got nothing to do with safety. We should be able to leave right after the terminating checklist like UA/AA/DL and others. Put it in the TA.
