The in house rumor is they are using the same engine nacelle but with different materials to satisfy the engineering requirement. It still has to be implemented and tested and then certified. I think a year is pushing it, especially with Boeing being put back into the crawl phase of crawl, walk, run after falling on their faces repeatedly.
but same old materials on the 8 with literally millions of hrs without a problem. SMH

Agree, this is the dumbest thing ever to get excited about, but here we are. I think it was just the Feds putting egg on Boeings face to convince the flying public that they are doing something despite working from home 80 percent of the time.

Reviving an old post, has ANYONE heard ANYTHING about the MAX 7?

I remember reading last year that Boeing said they "Found a fix" for the anti-ice issue, that they'd be flight testing it, and it should be a done deal in a year.... well a year has come and gone and there's still nothing. The MAX 7 test beds haven't flown in 2+ years for N7201S and 5+ for N7202U.

Boeing expects to have it certified by the end of the year……….. again……… for the last few years.

The whole thing has become absurd and an absolute joke. I mean, who would take anyone from Boeing or SWA seriously about it anymore?

How many more “another year” statements do you hear before you just write the whole thing off?

Crickets. It’s a total joke. They’ve been saying “certified in 6 months” and “for sure by next year” for so many years now it’s difficult to count. Here we are past the last promise of certified by Q2 of 2025 with zero updates. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for next year either…

I think I jokingly mentioned 2027. I’m starting to doubt that.
