I can’t find the report they were talking about but apparently on local Fox channel 2 tv in St. Louis there was a bit recently on how southwest has agreed to move forward and thought maybe this could be an indicator that domicile announcement may actually be coming

But isnt it like a new stadium kindof scenario. Hey we will bring our team there if you give us tax breaks for years to come. So big write off for company and benefits for community.

Yeah probably. STL is run by dipsh!ts though. They jacked the landing fees in 2010 and AA pulled out the majority of the RJ feed and moved it to ORD. Offered SWA a deal since their fee revenue fell through the basement....lately I've heard the fees are back up so maybe offering $ to help revamp the terminal comes with a lower fee for guaranteed flights/day for x number of years.

The proposed STL new terminal (keeping the green domes existing check in) will have two or three concourses in a tee formation, one after the other.
They will then demo the current Terminal 2, where SWA is today. Some of the existing concourse work of Terminal 1 will be demoed.
I think they hope to do it by 2030 completion.

Bigwigs were talking about opening 2 bases last year, BNA and ________....no way they wait til 2030. DAL, MDW, and HOU are maxed out (least until 2025 when we can go to DFW, and when the new HOU gates open). Need something to take the stress off MDW....that place is a goat rope with any kind of weather.

If we were going with what would make the most sense....we need something in the PNW or NE to fill in the map a bit. PNW would be a good launching point for Alaska....PDX would be a good base to avoid the SEA mess.

I'll go with PIT (place was built to be a hub and now it's a ghost town)
or HNL - the most minor hiccup, sick call, or fatigue is an 8 hour recovery minimum. A small base in HNL would solve that.
