I'll go with PIT (place was built to be a hub and now it's a ghost town)

or HNL - the most minor hiccup, sick call, or fatigue is an 8 hour recovery minimum. A small base in HNL would solve that.
hnl or San

They told us HNL isn't on the radar....would make sense, but they said paid moves, etc make it more of a headache than just rerouting someone. Wherever the next base is....needs to have long runways and plenty of gate space. Even better if it's not overrun with OAL's, limiting taxi time and delays.

Can you think of an airport that has those qualities? CLE, PIT, CVG? The problem is, just like STL the reason they have long runways and plenty of gate space is they ran off the airlines with big operations there. Maybe they will wise up?

I'd heard CVG was a landing fee issue also. MCI was also home to a few airlines who are extinct. That decision is above my pay grade. They poo poo'd FLL/MIA because they said they didn't want a big storm taking out two bases...but then in the next breath floated AUS as a possibility....TX doesn't ever have big storms that would impact DAL/AUS/HOU at the same time.....

AUS would make sense, we seem to chase liberal crazy towns to put up bases….. so I may switch my under from MAF to AUS. BNA is running right in track to fail just like Austin…. From best city to worst in the blink of a vote

Couple years ago, ran into AW. He said #1 choice of the people - BNA. #1 choice for our operation -STL. Specifically said that he liked STL better than MCI. Lots of real estate and easily offloads MDW. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t really care as I have zero interest in either one of them. I’m pretty sure the announced plan was to open two bases a year apart from one another. As we all know, things most definitely change.

Naw, we're quite sure we're working for the folks who think overloading MDW in the winter and waiting patiently for the MAX-7 is the best business plan available. Problem is, there's almost always some tiny ember of hope that hasn't been stomped out yet and that leads to these sporadic outbreaks of positive speculation.

Honestly that’s a fairly accurate representation of our current state.
