Dewey Destin's is a solid place too. If you happen to fish and catch anything, you can bring it with you and they'll prepare it however you like.
If you have time for breakfast, quick uber to the Red Rooster Cafe. It is the best joint for breakfast in town. The Donut Hole is great too, but its a tourist trap and always packed. Red Rooster is a smaller place and I go there anytime Im in town. Enjoy!

AJs across the street has good oysters and they do sales on em on Wednesday and Friday. I had a blackened grouper sandwich, too, the last time I was there. I’m a seafood snob and it was ok. I should have just eaten another dozen on the half shell and really rolled the bones on crapping myself on go home day.
McGuires is open super late (2 am) and has good steaks and excellent beer if you’re hungry late. It’s about a ten dollar Uber to it. Bring a buck.
if you really wanna see something, rent a car when you get in from national with our code for about 45 bucks all in and drive down to 30A just west of Panama City Beach.

In Destin harbor any of the seafood places will be good. Overpriced for tourists, but fresh and delicious. Boshamps is my favorite, but any of the Dewey Destin's are great too. For brunch hit up Cappricios or East Pass coffee. If you want to drive east Ruby Slipper's baytowne location (I'm not a fan of the Destin location), maple street biscuit company and big bad breakfast are great too. Harry T's on the harbor's brunch isn't the best and it isn't cheap, but it has a great view of the entrance of the harbor. Keep going east to check out 30A to Alys Beach is good scenery and people watching and some boutique shopping spots for the .00001%, and the state parks over there have cool views of the Dune Lakes which are great for paddle boarding. For drinks try Idyll Hounds, Grayton Brewery, Craft Bar, 3rd Planet in Niceville, and the best cocktails around are at Bitterroot. The Henderson has a rooftop bar non-guests can visit that has great sunset views but very, very average drinks. Usually we grab a drink at the far better bar downstairs in the lobby and just take it up to the roof. Depending on how the weather is a fishing charter is always a good bet, there's a couple world class fisheries and Destin has the largest charter fleet in the country. Pontoons to crab island can be fun and can offer everything from a family friendly hangout away from the crowds to spring break rowdiness depending on where you anchor. I'd much rather do the tiki hut boats though. Don't bother with the dolphin cruises, you can see plenty from the bridge and harbor.
